Arrive in Geneva and take an easy train right through the Lavaux wine country along lovely lake Geneva to Montreux.
The town of Montreux nestles in a sheltered Lake Geneva bay, surrounded by vineyards and against the breathtaking backdrop of snow-covered Alps. It is the most frequented resort on Lake Geneva and famous for its beautiful location in the southwestern part of Switzerland. Enhanced by the spectacular background of the Alps, the town of 20,000 inhabitants has charmed many people in the past. Thanks to the Mediterranean climate, Montreux is regarded to be one of the noblest resorts in Switzerland. Montreux has many sumptuous palaces and Edwardian hotels that are reminiscent of the French Riviera. It is pleasant to go up thought old Montreux to the terrace of the church and see the district of Clarens-Montreux-Territet, the lake with the Chateau de Chillon on its rocky
islet, the mountains of the Savoy Chablais and the sparkling Dents du Midi.

Chillon Castle – Located on a rocky island near the shore featuring fortified walls and towers; the prison in which Bonivard was held in chains for four years and which provided Lord Byron with the inspiration for his famous poem “The prisoners of Chillon” in 1816 deserves particular attention. Nowadays the castle is a museum.

The train ride from Interlaken brings you to Lucerne, perhaps Switzerland’s prettiest city. See the famous Chapel Bridge, the Lion of Lucerne, and local museums, or perhaps take the cable car and cogwheel train up to the views from Mount Pilatus. Take a boat ride along the lake or a walk along the lakeside promenade to the impressive transport museum.
Begin your day for a wonderful journey to the famous Mt. Titlis. Board Rotair, a rotating cable car, to travel to the summit of gorgeous Mt Titlis, central Switzerland’s highest mountain. As you ascend to 10,623 feet (3,238 meters), take in marvelous 360-degree views of the sparkling bluetinged glacial landscape and capture photos of giant ice boulders and deep crevasses. And now that the new gondola system has been implemented, you will spend more time on top of Mount Titlis as the new ride takes you up in a shorter time!Reach the top of Mt Titlis — where it’s snowy year-round — and enjoy 1.5 hours to try a variety of fun activities. Visit the Ice Grotto, a long ice cave, and ride the Ice Flyer, a thrilling chairlift that takes you closer to the ice crevasses.
